POOL POLICIES & PROCEDURES
|
Lifeguards:
- WE DO NOT ALWAYS HAVE LIFEGUARDS ON DUTY. During these times you are swimming at your own risk. We recommend you never swim alone, know your own limitations, and make the front desk staff aware you will be using the pool and the amount of time you expect to be swimming.
- When lifeguards are on duty, they reserve the right to remove anyone who is not following pool policy or is creating an unsafe environment for themselves or other members.
- When lifeguards are on duty, they are there as added protection for you and your family. Nothing can replace your own judgment and common sense. Know your ability and/or your child’s ability, follow all safety guidelines, and practice good judgment.
Before You Enter the Pool:
- Please sign in the sign-in sheet.
- You must shower before entering the pool.
- Leave all food and drink (except water) outside of the pool area.
Pool Schedule:
- Please follow the pool schedule. Copies are available at the front desk and posted outside pool area.
- Lap lanes are open only for lap swimmers. The lifeguard on duty will monitor lap lanes to be sure they are being used properly.
- Open swim is open for all swimmers with proper supervision. There will be two lap lanes open during open swim. Please respect our swimmers by not crossing or hanging over the lap lane markers.
- Adults may have open swim during aquacize classes. Please be respectful of others by keeping a distance away from class participants and by fitness swimming in lap lanes only. Children are not allowed in the pool during class times.
Age Limits and Age Restrictions:
- No one under the age of 12 will be allowed to use the pool without adult supervision. This rule applies even when there is a lifeguard on duty. This is for your child’s safety and no exceptions will be made.
- Children who are not toilet trained must be in special swim diapers. If you do not have one, they are available for purchase at the front desk. One leak from a regular diaper will result in the closing of the pool for at least 24 hours.
Pool Closure:
Thunder and lightning: At the sound of thunder or the first sight of lightning, the lifeguard will clear the pool immediately. If there is not a lifeguard on duty at the time of the storm, an announcement will be made and members will need to exit the pool immediately. The pool will re-open fifteen minutes after the last sound of thunder or the last sight of lightning.
Unsafe or Unsanitary Conditions:During an unsafe or unsanitary condition, such as diaper leaks, the pool will be cleared immediately by the lifeguard. If there is not a lifeguard on duty and you are aware of unsafe or unsanitary conditions, please notify the front desk so the appropriate actions can be taken. The pool will be closed for 24 hours to be treated with the appropriate chemicals.
